The Man (Poetry)

Hi, guys. This is me practicing the Shakespearean sonnet. I hope I didn’t mess it up too badly.

I have seen the man kick his wife

in the belly, and in that single

action put a shameful end to a brewing life

like shit in a public restroom.

I have seen the man lynch his fellow –

another man who loves like a lady.

I have seen the hate in his eyes, how it runs hollow.

I have seen the man kill a baby.

A wail, a stone in the dark,

and in that, the mourning of two losses:

one, of the child, departed without a mark

The other, of hope and all its benign forces.

I have seen the devil in all its shades,

and I say man is in the worst of all his days.

  1. You have the absolute coolest physics blog ever. The only thing is, I don’t understand the high level of physics this is talkinga about. I find it fascinating though.
